Go to "Retailers" to find a shop carrying Arnhild's patterns and Rauma yarns and patterns.  These stores may not carry a full line, but please ask them to special order it if there is something you want.

Rauma Yarn Distributor - Wholesale Orders Only

Things to bring:
  • All of your needle supply. Then you can change needle size in class if necessary, and you never know if you want to start something that was not on your mind when you left from home! Also bring stitch markers, darning (yarn) needle, scissors, etc.
  • One “Show and Tell” item for Saturday evening. We would like everyone to share something they have made. (We have a limitation of one per knitter due to the number of attendees.)

This is what the teachers say about supplies and homework for classes:

Jean: For the 2 Socks on 1 Needle

Small amount of Sport or Fingering weight sock; DK or Worsted Weight would work also. Yarn needs to be in 2 balls; could be different colors.

After practicing the technique on the baby sox, people may wish to start adult sized sox, if there is time.

For this, they will need yarn wound in 2 equal balls & appropriate sized 40"

circular needle in size to give a firm gauge. Socks wear better when knit at smaller

gauge, but with these practice baby socks, gauge isn’t so important.

I prefer the Addi Skacel Lace needles. Addi needles work well for the magic

loop technique because of smooth cable join & pointed tips.

Bring along usual assortment of knitting tools, such as markers, scissors, Knit Check, tapestry needles etc.

Annemor: Double pointed knitting needles, darning needle.

Complimentary yarn for Annemor's class will be available in her class room.

Linda:  Short Rows

Sports or Worsted weight leftover yarns in various colors, 16” circular and double     pointed needles to match the yarn.

Linda:  I-Cords

Light color Sports or Worsted weight yarn for the homework swatch. Bring leftover yarn in 3 different colors and needles (16” circular and double pointed) to match the yarn.

Homework:

Cast on 40sts. K 2 rows back and forth. Work stockinette stitch for 6 rows, the 1st row being a K row.  This P ridge will be used for an attached I-cord. Work stockinette stitch for another 6 rows.

Begin eyelet row (must be an even number of eyelets: *K4, yo, K2tog*. Repeat between ** 5 more times. K4.

Start ric rac cable. Insert cable (the graph) 6sts from the right side edge on the knit side of the swatch.  Work stockinette stitch to the left of the cable all the way up. This area will be used for embellishment.

After cable is done work stockinette stitch across for 4 more rows. Make another P row on the knit side. Work stockinette stitch for 10 rows. Leave sts on the needle.

Repeat rows 1 through 12  2 more times. Finish working rows 13 and 14.

Arnhild: Design a Sweater or Design Mittens

Graph paper and border suggestions will be provided. Bring pencil, eraser, calculator, tape measure and good ideas!

Due to the number of registrants we will repeat the Design a Sweater class twice on Saturday, which means it will be a 3-hour class instead of 6 hours. This will make it possible for everybody to take an extra class, and also make the number of people in each of Annemor's classes more "livable".

Lisa: Beginning Knitting

If you are a new knitter or someone who has not knitted for a while and need some help to get started over again, this will be the place for you.  You will need one ball yarn in DK or worsted weight and 4.5 -5mm (7-8US) needles. You can bring your own supply, or get some at the Retreat Store.
